What is an Fire risk assessment?

A fire risk assessment is carried out to identify all fire hazards and risks in your premises.

After these risks and hazards have been identified you can decide whether they are acceptable or whether you need to do something to reduce the risk or control them.

The person carrying out the fire risk assessment should be undertaken by someone who has had sufficient training and has good experience and knowledge of fire safety.

There are five steps to carrying out a fire risk assessment.

  • Identify the fire hazards
  • Identify people at risk
