Air Conditioning Inspections
There are an increasing number of commercial buildings and domestic premises that have air-conditioning systems. It is important that such systems are carefully maintained and managed in order that they do not consume too much energy.
As of 4th January 2009 all air-conditioning systems over 250kw must have had their initial inspection. By January 4th 2011 all air-conditioning systems over 12kw must have had their first inspection.
It is important to know that it is the size (effective rated output) of the air-conditioning system and not the type of building it is located in, so the measures apply to homes, commercial and public buildings.
An accredited energy assessor will conduct the inspection and will include an efficiency assessment and advice on improvements or replacements and alternative solutions.
